How power is also our prison
Assumptions and opinions give us a framework to work in, but also limit.
This conversation covers how many confuse the ability to intimidate others with being powerful and successful. Some think that making friends at work gives you control and power. But where does real power come from? Ones title? One’s money? A Gun? All these depend on an external item. And are you really in control, or reflecting an internal feeling of not being in control? Is your power really your weakness? Is your attempt to maintain power over others the very thing that imprisons?
Power is a feeling of completeness, an energy, power. It doesn’t come from doing anything to others or the acceptance of others. These are the need to be validated from outside, a sure sign of not having power.
To be more effective, you have to have a center, a knowledge of who you are, taking responsibility for how you interact with the world. To arrive at this center you have to learn how to get to the center and not be at the mercy of the flow of feelings and opinion, like leaves in the wind.
